“Nader and Simin” to close Argentinean festival

TEHRAN -- The acclaimed Iranian film “Nader and Simin: A Seperation” will close the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Film which will be held from April 6 to 17.
A portrayal of the break-up of a marriage, “Nader and Simin: A Separation” won a Golden Bear for the best film at the Berlin film festival and its cast ensemble received best actor and actress Silver Bears at the event.
Iranian ensemble performs in South Africa
TEHRAN -- The traditional Iranian music ensemble Hamnava gave a performance at the University Of Pretoria, South Africa on Monday.
They performed some traditional music pieces as well as some regional Kurdish, Lor, Qashqai and Shirazi music.
Sponsored by Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in Pretoria, the event was attended by several officials and artists as well as Iranian ambassador to South Africa Asghar Ebrahimi-Asl.
Iranian culture minister to travel to Algeria
TEHRAN -- An Iranian delegation headed by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini will be traveling to Algeria to attend the inauguration ceremony of Tlemcen as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2011 on April 13.
Hosseini will be attending the ceremony following the invitation of his Algerian counterpart Khalida Toumi, Iran’s ambassador to Algeria Mahmud Mohammadi told the Persian service of MNA on Tuesday.
Culture ministers and representatives from the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will also be attending the ceremony..
